Hmmn. Many a moon have passed since I last checked...

My quiet time recently has been fruitful. Reading scripture in bulk, multiple chapters (of a 'story arc') rather than one chapter at one go, has greatly blessed me. The scriptures really came alive as I began to see the big picture, the full setting, the faithfulness of God through the generations (by the way, I have just finished reading 2 Chronicles).

I had thought that reading Chronicles would have been boring since they record the same events as Kings. I was so mistaken. It was absolutely exciting and riveting! Although the events recorded were the same, they were from a different perspective, God's perspective, I believe, and it was very interest to cross reference and see how the same events can be recorded differently with different emphasis and points to put across to the reader. It was most enriching.

Since I am reading the bible from cover to cover for my quiet time, next up will be Ezra which I will be reading today. I intend to cover the whole book for today's quiet time, the whole of Nehemiah for tomorrow's quiet time, etc. I am frankly very excited at what I will glean from this day's quiet time; what will God say to me?

Every quiet time with God is so different, unique, and fruitful! I am most blessed to worship the Lord God Almighty.
