Reflection of the Day
"Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:12 NASB
"Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified."
1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NASB
Christian maturity is an interesting thing. I know that I am a relatively mature Christian, yet, ever onwards as days do pass and events occur, I am ever aware upon reflection about how immature I still am as a Christian. The bar seems to go ever higher as I grow in knowing God and loving Him. Indeed, there is no perfection on this side of eternity and I identify with the Apostle Paul as he shares in these few verses. The Christian journey ahead of me is still long, until the day Christ comes again or He calls me home. There is still very much area to grow in maturity and Christ-likeness.
Once again, it's back to basics, having graduated from elementary school but still ever returning to learn even more in elementary school - things which I had not known existed or the depths of which I had not understanding or perception of.
